📖 Bible-in-a-Year (optional)
Today's reading: Isaiah 4–6; 2 Kings 16
Reading the whole Bible in a year — do this when you have extra time. (Isaiah 6 shows the holy God whose Spirit fills heaven and earth.)The Heart of It
Today's verse pulls back the curtain on how the empty tomb happened. And it shows what that means for you. Paul writes, "If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you." Read that slowly. The very same Holy Spirit who reached into the tomb and raised Jesus' dead body to life is the Spirit who now lives inside every person who belongs to Jesus. The resurrection wasn't a one-time fireworks show that happened long ago and far away. It set loose God's resurrection power. And that power has an address. It lives in you.
This is the heart of walking in the Spirit. We don't follow Jesus by squeezing out a little more willpower each day. We were never meant to. The Spirit who conquered death is the same Spirit who gives us power to say no to sin. He gives us courage to tell others about Jesus. And He gives us strength when we feel weak and tired. There's also a glorious promise stretching into the future. Because His Spirit lives in us, our "mortal bodies" will one day be raised too. These are the bodies that get sick and grow old. Easter is not only about Jesus' empty tomb. It's the down payment on yours. The Spirit in you is resurrection power, already at work, growing His fruit and pointing you toward a day when death itself is undone.
Around the Table
God's Spirit is so strong He made Jesus alive again! And that same strong Helper lives in everyone who loves Jesus. Wow!
Let's do it: Flex your "strong arms," then say: "God's Spirit is even stronger — and He helps me!"
The same Spirit who raised Jesus lives in His people today. That means God's biggest power is right there to help you obey and be brave.
Let's talk: What's something hard you could ask the Holy Spirit to help you with this week?
Resurrection power isn't only past or future. The Spirit is at work in believers now. And one day He'll raise our bodies, too (). That's why we live with hope, not fear.
Let's go deeper: How would your week look different if you really believed God's resurrection power lives in you?

What's the most powerful machine or force you can think of? The power that raised Jesus from the dead is greater than all of them. And it lives in God's people.
🛡️ Defending the Faith
Isn't the resurrection just a "spiritual" idea, not a real, physical event? Paul ties it to our "mortal bodies" being raised. That is a bodily hope, not a vague feeling. The earliest Christians staked their lives on a physically empty tomb and a Jesus they touched and ate with. Their faith was rooted in something that actually happened in history.

Classic Pentecostal teaching loves this verse because it refuses to leave the resurrection in the past tense. The Spirit who raised Christ is the Spirit poured out at Pentecost. It is the same divine power, now living in and empowering ordinary believers, your children included. But keep the lane clear. This power is for holiness, witness, and hope in the face of death. It is not for hype, showmanship, or guaranteed health-and-wealth. Robert Menzies notes that Luke and Paul together hold the Spirit's work for transformation and for mission. As you lead, examine your own walk. Are you parenting out of grim willpower, or leaning into the Spirit who lives in you? Confess the white-knuckle striving, and ask the Father afresh for the Spirit's power (). Resurrection life is meant to be experienced, not merely admired.

Let's Pray Together
"Father, thank You that the same Spirit who raised Jesus lives in us. Fill us with Your power. Help us obey You. Help us tell others about Jesus. Help us live with hope. We trust You will raise us one day, too. In Jesus' name, amen."
The same Spirit who emptied Jesus' tomb lives in me. That is resurrection power, here and now.
