Today's reading: Jeremiah 35-37
Reading the whole Bible in a year — do this when you have extra time. (Around Day 240 of 365 — the faithful Rechabites and Jeremiah's scroll.)The Heart of It
We have looked long at the heart of Jesus this month, and a heart like His is meant to be followed, not just admired. Jesus does not say He merely shows the way. He says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (). That is one of the kindest claims in all the world. It means we never have to wander or guess our way to God. The path home has a name and a face. To follow Jesus is not to follow a set of rules. It is to follow a Person who knows exactly where the Father lives, because He came from there to bring us back.
And following Him is safe. Jesus describes us as His sheep: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand" (). Notice the order. His sheep hear and follow. That's a living, walking-with-Him faith. It is not a one-time card we signed and forgot. To those who keep listening to His voice and stay close, He gives a grip no enemy can break. So as this month closes, the question is gentle but real. Will we keep following Him further? There is more of Jesus to know. There is more of His heart to trust. And there is a whole life ahead of learning to recognize the voice of the Shepherd who loves us. A heart that has seen the heart of Jesus is a heart ready to walk on with Him.
Around the Table
Jesus is like a good shepherd, and we are His little sheep. Sheep follow the shepherd because they know his voice and he keeps them safe.
Let's do it: Play a quick game! One person is the "shepherd" and softly calls; everyone else closes their eyes and follows the voice. Then say together, "Jesus, I want to follow You!"
Jesus said He is "the way" — the road that leads us all the way home to the Father. How is that better than us trying to find God on our own?
Let's talk: Jesus' sheep "hear His voice and follow." What are some ways we can listen to Jesus' voice this week?
Jesus promises His sheep that no one can snatch them from His hand. That's strong assurance for everyone who keeps hearing and following Him. The safety is real, and it belongs to those who stay close to the Shepherd.
Let's go deeper: What is one specific way you sense Jesus inviting you to follow Him further this next season? Not just to believe, but to actually obey?

Who is the easiest person for you to recognize just by their voice — even in another room?— Jesus wants His voice to become that familiar to us!
🛡️ Defending the Faith
When someone says, "It's narrow-minded to claim Jesus is the only way," remember that it is actually the most loving news imaginable. Jesus didn't leave us guessing at a hundred dead-end roads. He came down and opened the one road home Himself (). Think of a doctor who tells you the one cure that works. He isn't being narrow. He's being kind. And we share this gently and with respect ().
For Dad · Go Deeper
Discipleship is a direction before it is a destination. The close of a month is a natural place to ask your family, and yourself, are we still moving toward Jesus, or have we settled? gives a tender corrective to two common errors at once. Against a cold, fearful religion, Jesus offers real assurance. His sheep "shall never perish," held in a hand nothing can pry open. Against a careless "I prayed a prayer once" presumption, Jesus describes ongoing sheep who hear and follow. Assurance is the birthright of those who keep walking with the Shepherd and abiding in Him (). It is not a guarantee detached from a living faith. Lead your home into that warm middle. Be confident, because the grip is His and not ours. And stay awake, because following is a daily, lifelong joy. The heart of Jesus you've studied all month is not a museum piece to look back on. It is a living Shepherd to walk behind, all the way to the Father's house.

Let's Pray Together
"Lord Jesus, You are the way, the truth, and the life. You are the only road to the Father. Teach our family to know Your voice and follow You every day. Hold us in Your strong hand and keep us close. In Jesus' name, amen."
Jesus is the way home, and His sheep keep following His voice. So I'll walk on with Him, today and further still.
