📖 Bible-in-a-Year (optional)

Today's reading: Numbers 16-18

Reading the whole Bible in a year — do this when you have extra time. (Around Day 120 of 365 — God shows the world whom He has truly chosen and set apart.)

The Heart of It

A whole month of learning that Jesus is God leads somewhere. It leads out the door. Truth this big was never meant to stay locked inside our house. Jesus told His friends, "You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me" (). A witness is simply someone who tells what they have seen and know. You don't have to be a grown-up, a pastor, or a Bible expert. You just have to know Jesus and be willing to say so. And the same Holy Spirit who filled the first disciples gives ordinary kids and parents the courage to speak.

But how we tell matters as much as that we tell. Peter gives us the family rule. We "always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with gentleness and respect" (). "Meekness" means gentle and humble. "Fear" means deep respect for God. We're not here to argue people into a corner. We're not here to make anyone feel small. We carry the best news in the world. So we share it the way Jesus would. We stay kind, calm, and confident. We trust the Spirit to do what only He can do. You stand firm on the truth. And you stay soft toward the person. That's how a disciple is sent.

Around the Table

Littles 5–8

Jesus has a job for you — to tell people the good news that He loves them! And He gives you brave hearts to do it.

Let's do it: Practice your "good news sentence": "Jesus loves you, and He is alive!" Say it three times, getting bolder each time.

Middles 9–11

Being a witness just means telling what you know about Jesus. And we do it with kindness, not arguing.

Let's talk: Who is one person you could share something about Jesus with this week? And how could you do it gently?

Older 12–15

"Always be ready" () means thinking ahead. The Spirit gives the power. You bring a ready heart and a gentle tongue.

Let's go deeper: What's a question about Jesus you'd want to be ready for? Let's work out a kind, honest answer together right now.

💬 Conversation Starter

If you had only ten seconds to tell someone the best thing about Jesus, what would you say?

🛡️ Defending the Faith

Defending the faith isn't about winning. It's about loving. Someone may disagree or even mock. The goal is never to crush them. It's to point them gently to Jesus (, "with gentleness and respect"). A calm, kind answer can open more hearts than the cleverest comeback. You can simply say, "I'm not sure. Let's find out together." Stay firm on the truth. Stay warm toward the person.

For Dad · Go Deeper

This month equipped your family to stand. It taught them why Jesus is God. Today turns standing into sending. But here's the heart of it. Your children will share their faith roughly the way they watch you share yours. Maybe they see Dad get defensive, sarcastic, or silent when faith comes up. That's the script they'll absorb. But maybe they see you answer a skeptical coworker or relative with patience, real listening, and gentle confidence. Then you've handed them a model worth more than any memorized argument. Apologetics is finally a discipleship of tone as much as content. So before you send your kids out, ask the Spirit to fill you afresh for the same mission (). You can only lead them as far down the road as you yourself are walking.

Let's Pray Together

"Father, thank You that the good news of Jesus is for the whole world. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Make us bold, gentle witnesses. Help us always be ready to tell others about Jesus, with kindness and respect. Send us out, and go with us. In Jesus' name, amen."

Carry It With You

I know Jesus is God. Now I get to gently tell the world.
