No Compromise Worship Time

Month 5: What About Other Religions? · Family Worship

⏱ ≈ 15 min together

Today's Scripture

Read together: Daniel 3:28

28 Nebuchadnezzar declared, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him. They violated the king’s command and risked their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

Memory Verse

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,1 Timothy 2:5 (BSB)memorize this week

📖 Bible-in-a-Year (optional)

Today's reading: Joshua 16-18

Reading the whole Bible in a year — do this when you have extra time. (More of the Promised Land is mapped out for God's people.)

The Heart of It

Look how the week's story ends. After the fire, the same king who threw three young men into the furnace now praises their God. He says, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego... who delivered His servants who trusted in Him! They yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God" (). Did you catch the surprise? The people who refused to compromise ended up pointing a pagan king straight to the one true God. Their brave "no" became the loudest sermon in Babylon. When you won't bow to fake gods, people notice the real One.

This week we've learned big truths to worship over. There is one God (). There is one Mediator, and He is Jesus. And there is no other name that saves. Jesus beats every counterfeit, because He is God in the flesh who died and rose. We can love people who believe differently while we stand firm on the truth. And the Holy Spirit helps us test every spirit and tell the real Jesus from the fakes. Today, instead of just learning, let's worship. The God we've been studying is worthy. He didn't keep His friends out of the fire. He walked into it with them. That's the God we bow to, and the only one we ever will.

Around the Table

Littles 5–8

God's three friends wouldn't bow to fake gods, and the king ended up praising the REAL God! Our God is the best, the strongest, the truest.

Let's do it: Have a mini praise party. Sing one worship song you love, and shout "Our God is the only God!" at the end.

Middles 9–11

Their courage made a king worship God. Standing firm isn't just brave. It's a way of telling others the truth.

Let's talk: Go around and each name one thing you learned this week about why Jesus is the only way. Then thank God for it out loud.

Older 12–15

The king ended up praising God. Standing firm without compromise often opens a door no argument ever could. Worship is the natural response to a God like this.

Let's go deeper: Lead the family. Pick one truth from this week, read its verse aloud, and turn it into a sentence of praise the whole family can say together.

💬 Conversation Starter

Whose praise surprised you this week, at school, at home, or anywhere? What if your courage made someone praise God like the king did?

🛡️ Defending the Faith

When someone says "religion just causes division," you can kindly point to today's story. Three young men stood firm without any hatred. And it led a king to bless the true God (). Real faith doesn't bully. It stands gently and lets God do the convincing. Make worship and integrity your main argument, offered "with gentleness and respect" ().

For Dad · Go Deeper

Family worship is where the week's apologetics turns from information into affection. Your kids can know that Jesus is the only Mediator and still not love Him. The goal of all this study is a heart bowed in genuine, joyful worship of the one true God. Notice that the high point of the furnace story isn't the rescue. It's the praise. So take the lead tonight. Don't just quiz the kids. Worship with them. Let them see their father moved by who God is, naming truths back to Him in thanksgiving. A home that argues well but never worships will raise debaters, not disciples. So anchor your family's stand against every false god in delight, not just in being right.

Let's Pray Together

"Father, You are the one true God. There is no other beside You. Thank You for Jesus, who walks with us through every fire. We will worship You and You alone. In Jesus' name, amen."

Carry It With You

The God I refuse to trade away is the God worth worshiping with my whole heart.
