Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”Matthew 28:19-20 (BSB)

📖 Bible-in-a-Year (optional)

Today's reading: Ecclesiastes 7-9

Reading the whole Bible in a year — do this when you have extra time. (Wisdom for living well in a world we don't fully understand.)

The Heart of It

Jesus ends the Great Commission with the sweetest promise in the whole mission. He says, "Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." He gives us a giant job. We are to reach the world. And then He immediately reminds us that we will never do it alone. Through His Holy Spirit, Jesus is present with His people every single day, until He returns. Maybe you feel nervous to share your faith. Maybe a friend asks a hard question. Maybe you move to a new school or a new country. Jesus is right there. says it from another angle: "I will never leave you nor forsake you." In the original language that promise is doubled and tripled for emphasis. It is as if God is saying, "I will never, no never, no never leave you." He really means it.

This is the perfect way to close our two weeks on telling the good news. We've learned to go, to make disciples, to lean on the Spirit's power, and to pass the gospel on. But none of it rests on how brave or smart we are. It rests on the One who is always with us. As a family, you can step into the mission with confidence. It isn't because you feel strong. It is because Jesus has promised to be near. The same Lord who has all authority is also the Friend who never walks away. So go. He goes with you. Take a few minutes now to worship Him together for being both King and Companion.

Around the Table

Littles 5–8

Jesus is ALWAYS with you. He is with you at home, at school, in the dark, everywhere! He never, ever leaves.

Let's do it: Hold hands in a circle and say together, "Jesus is with us, always!"

Middles 9–11

Jesus gave a big mission AND a big promise: "I am with you always." We're never on the mission alone.

Let's talk: When is a time you most need to remember that Jesus is right there with you?

Older 12–15

Hebrews repeats the promise for emphasis. God says He will "never leave... nor forsake" us. Jesus' presence is the anchor that makes the Great Commission doable for ordinary people.

Let's go deeper: How does the promise "I am with you always" change the way you'd face a hard or scary part of following Jesus?

💬 Conversation Starter

Who is someone you love to have right beside you when something feels scary? Jesus is even closer than that, and He is always there!

🛡️ Defending the Faith

People sometimes feel God is far away or absent. But Jesus promised His ongoing presence through the Holy Spirit. Countless believers across every century and culture say they have known Him near. They have known Him near even in prison and suffering. A God who keeps showing up to His people, just as He promised, is no distant idea ().

For Dad · Go Deeper

Family worship is where the truths of this month sink from the head into the heart. Tonight's truth is the one your children most need to carry: they are never alone. Don't rush this as a checklist. Read the verses slowly. Recite the memory verse together one last time. Sing a song you all know. Let each person name one place they need to remember Jesus is with them. Then bless your children out loud by name. A father's spoken blessing, rooted in Christ's promised presence, lingers for decades. Remember that your steadiness in leading these rhythms preaches the very point of the lesson. Just as you keep showing up for your family, Jesus keeps showing up for them. He only does it perfectly, and forever.

Let's Pray Together

"Jesus, thank You that You are with us always. You will never leave us. Fill us with Your Spirit. Keep us close to You. We love You as our King and our Friend. In Jesus' name, amen."

Carry It With You

Jesus gave me a big mission and an even bigger promise. He said, "I am with you always."
