A Daily Disciple

Making disciples at home

Today's Reading

Gather the family around the table

Below is today's reading from each of our three volumes — open any one to read it together. The same day, for families everywhere.

I Volume 1

Knowing God

Month 7 · He Is Risen! — Why We Believe

Jesus Walks With Two Friends

On the very first Easter, two heartbroken friends were trudging the seven miles to a village called Emmaus. They had hoped Jesus was the one to rescue Israel. And now He was dead.

II Volume 2

Following Jesus

Month 7 · The Miracle Worker

Five Loaves, Two Fish, Thousands Fed

A huge crowd had followed Jesus up a mountainside. There were about five thousand men, plus women and children too. It was getting late. Everyone was hungry. And there were no shops nearby.

III Volume 3

Ready to Stand & Be Sent

Month 7 · Who Am I?

Crucified With Christ

Paul writes one of the most surprising sentences in the whole Bible. He says, "I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." That sounds strange. Paul is clearly still alive.

How to use it

  1. Gather after a meal — about 10–15 minutes.
  2. Read the day together; each age has its own prompt.
  3. Go in order at your own pace — you're never behind.
