Today's reading: Revelation 13–15
Reading the whole Bible in a year — do this when you have extra time. (Around Day 363 of 365 — the song of the redeemed.)The Heart of It
Near the very end of the Bible, Jesus signs His own name to it. He says, "I, Jesus... am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star." Jesus is David's Root. That means He was there before David ever lived. And Jesus is also David's Offspring. That means He came from David's family. He is the promised King who makes every prophecy come true. And then comes one of the most beautiful invitations in all the Bible. "The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!'... And let the one who is thirsty come, and the one who desires the water of life drink freely."
Look closely at who is doing the inviting. First, the Spirit. That is the Holy Spirit Himself. He joins with the bride. The bride is the church, which means God's people. Together they call the whole thirsty world to Jesus. This is exactly the mission Jesus promised in , and the Spirit powers it. It is still going right up to the last page. The Spirit never works to put on a show. He works to draw thirsty people to living water. And look at the price tag. It says, "freely." You cannot earn salvation. You cannot buy it. No one deserves it. It is a gift held out to anyone who simply admits they are thirsty and comes. Our family has a job too. Walking in step with the Spirit, we keep saying that one word to a thirsty world: "Come!"
Around the Table
Jesus says to everyone who is thirsty, "Come and drink! It's free!" And the Holy Spirit helps us say "Come!" too.
Let's do it: Wave your arm like you are calling a friend over. Then say, "Come to Jesus! It's free!"
The Holy Spirit and the church work together to invite people to Jesus. That invitation is for everyone.
Let's talk: Who is one thirsty friend our family could invite to "come" and meet Jesus?
The Spirit and the bride still call the world to Christ together. It is the same mission Jesus gave us in , and it runs all the way to the final page.
Let's go deeper: The water is offered "freely." What does that tell us about why we cannot earn salvation, and why we never need to?
💬 Conversation Starter
When you are really, really thirsty, nothing feels better than a cold drink. How is needing Jesus a little like being thirsty?
🛡️ Defending the Faith
When someone says, "Christianity is just rules that take all the fun out of life," gently point to this verse. The Bible's final invitation is not a rulebook. It is a free gift. As it says, "the one who desires the water of life drink freely" (). Always be ready to give a reason with gentleness (). God is not selling water. He is giving it away to anyone thirsty enough to come.

This verse is the engine of evangelism, and it is powered by the Holy Spirit. That is the heart of a healthy Pentecostal home. The mission is not yours to muscle through. The Spirit goes first and awakens the thirst. Then the church, including your family, simply echoes His call: "Come." That takes the pressure off and puts the power where it belongs. Model this for your kids by inviting, not pressuring. Share Jesus as good news offered freely, never as a sales pitch. And here is the searching question. Does your own life still say "come"? Children follow a father who is plainly glad to be at the well himself.

Let's Pray Together
"Father, thank You for the free gift of living water in Jesus. Fill us with Your Spirit. Help our family keep saying 'Come!' to everyone who is thirsty. In Jesus' name, amen."
The Spirit and the bride say one word to a thirsty world. And so do we: Come.
