Today's reading: Revelation 19–22
Reading the whole Bible in a year — do this when you have extra time. (Day 365 of 365 — the wedding of the Lamb, the new creation, and the very last words of Scripture. You made it!)The Heart of It
Here we are at the final day, reading the final words of the entire Bible. What a place to land. After everything John has seen, his whole heart pours out in a single prayer: "Come, Lord Jesus!" It is the cry of a people who love their King and cannot wait to see His face. The whole Bible, all sixty-six books, all the stories we have walked through this year, comes to rest on this one longing: come, Lord Jesus. That is meant to be the heartbeat of our family from this day forward.
And then comes the very last sentence God leaves us with. It is not a command. It is not a warning. It is a blessing. "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints. Amen." Think about that. God could have ended His book any way He wished. And He chose grace. The Bible opens with creation and closes with grace. That is because grace is what holds the whole story together. Everything we have learned this year flows from this one gift. Knowing God. Walking in the Spirit. Defending the faith. Going on mission. All of it flows from the grace of Jesus. It is freely given, and it rests on you and your children tonight. We do not finish this year because we were good enough. We finish it carried by grace. And we step into tomorrow the very same way.
Around the Table
The whole Bible ends with the two best words: grace and come! We get to say, "Come, Lord Jesus!" And He covers us with His love.
Let's do it: All together now, with your hands lifted high: "Come, Lord Jesus! Thank You for Your grace!"
God ended His whole book with grace. Grace is His free gift of love. That gift is what carried us through this whole year.
Let's talk: Looking back, what is your favorite thing you learned about Jesus this year?
Scripture does not end with a rule. It ends with grace and a longing for Jesus to come back. That is the whole gospel in just two short lines ().
Let's go deeper: The Bible ends in grace. How does knowing that change how you will start next year with God?

🛡️ Defending the Faith
The Bible ends the same way it ran all the way through. It ends with grace, a gift no one earns (; ). That alone sets it apart from every man-made religion of ladders and hard work. Only the true God ends His book by giving instead of demanding. A faith that humbles us this way rings true ().
For Dad · Go Deeper
You did it. A full year of leading your family in the Word, ten or fifteen faithful minutes at a time. Hear the last line of the Bible spoken over you tonight: "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints." Your leadership this year was never perfect, and it did not need to be. The home you are building rests on grace, not on your performance. So finish well by starting again. Turn back to Day 1 tomorrow, or pick up a new book, and keep the family altar burning. The goal was never to complete a devotional. It was to know Christ and to make Him known under your roof until He comes. Well done, faithful father. Now keep going, because "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion" ().

Let's Pray Together
"Father, thank You for the grace that carried us every single day. Come, Lord Jesus! Until You do, keep our family in Your grace. Keep us on Your mission. Keep us close to Your heart. In Jesus' name, amen."
The Bible ends with grace and a longing: "Come, Lord Jesus!" And so will our family, today and always.
