Nothing Too Hard for God
Month 2: The God Who Keeps Promises · Memory Verse
Today's Scripture
Read together: Genesis 18:10-14
10 Then the LORD said, “I will surely return to you at this time next year, and your wife Sarah will have a son!” Now Sarah was behind him, listening at the entrance to the tent. 11 And Abraham and Sarah were already old and well along in years; Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. 12 So she laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?” 13 And the LORD asked Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Can I really bear a child when I am old?’ 14 Is anything too difficult for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you—in about a year—and Sarah will have a son.”

Today's reading: Exodus 28–29
Reading the whole Bible in a year — do this when you have extra time. (Around Day 39 of 365 — God sets apart priests to serve Him in holiness.)The Heart of It
Before Isaac was ever born, three visitors came to Abraham's tent. One of them was the LORD Himself. He said again, "Sarah your wife shall have a son." Sarah was listening at the tent door, and she laughed. It wasn't a joyful laugh yet. It was a doubting one. She was old. This seemed too good and too impossible to be true. And then God asked the question that sits at the center of our whole week: "Is anything too hard for the LORD?" (). It is the kind of question that already knows its answer. No. Nothing is too hard for Him.
This is our memory verse, so let's hold it close. The same God who spoke galaxies into being can certainly give an old couple a baby. The God who parts seas and raises the dead is not stretched thin by your family's biggest problem. Maybe you are facing something that feels impossible. A sickness. A hard relationship. A prayer that seems unanswered. God gently asks you the very same thing: "Is anything too hard for Me?" When you memorize this verse, you plant an anchor in your heart. Then, when the storms come, you already know where to grab hold.
Around the Table
Sarah thought she was too old for a baby. But God said nothing is too hard for Him. And He was right!
Let's do it: Say the question together, then shout the answer: "Is anything too hard for the LORD? NO!"
Sarah laughed because she doubted. God wasn't angry. He just reminded her how big He is.
Let's talk: What is one "too hard" thing you can give to God this week?
God's question in verse 14 is really a promise in disguise. Let's break the verse into three parts and learn one part at a time.
Let's go deeper: Where in your life are you secretly thinking, "Even God can't fix this"? Bring that to Him.

🛡️ Defending the Faith
Some say miracles can't happen because nature never breaks its rules. But God made nature. So He is free to act within it whenever He chooses. A Maker is never trapped by what He made. The real question isn't "Can miracles happen?" The real question is "Is there a God?" And there is.
For Dad · Go Deeper
"Is anything too hard for the LORD?" is a verse to preach to yourself when no one is watching. Discipling five children is, frankly, too hard for you. You will not manufacture saving faith in their hearts by your own effort, and the weight of that can crush a father who forgets the verse. So memorize it as a confession of dependence, not just a children's slogan. The work God calls you to, God supplies the power for. Take Sarah's quiet laugh as a warning against the unbelief that hides behind tiredness. And take God's question as an invitation. Ask Him for the very things that feel out of reach in your home.

Let's Pray Together
"Father, You are so great that nothing is too hard for You. Forgive us for the times we doubt You. Help us remember this verse. Help us trust You with the things that feel impossible. In Jesus' name, amen."
Nothing is too hard for the LORD. Not one single thing.
